What is The J's Hospice? Print E-mail

The J's Hospice provides hospice and respite care services to young adults aged 16-40 who are living with life limiting and life threatening conditions including cancer, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, Juvenile Huntington's disease, cystic fibrosis and many more. These are complex conditions that, in most cases, will lead to the young adult experiencing severe disability.

Lasting Impact : Transforming Lives Print E-mail

The J’s Hospice is specialist in providing care and support for young adults aged 16 - 40 years with life limiting and life threatening conditions and helps transform lives in many positive ways.

The J's at Home - A special kind of care Print E-mail

At 18 years old, patients with life limiting and life threatening conditions leave children’s services and this can be a worrying time for families. Due to improved medicine and science, patients are living longer than expected. The J’s Hospice provides a dedicated, specialist service for these young adults to empower them to make choices about their care and treatment, as well as encouraging them to be who they want to be.

Inspire! young adult group and J's Days Print E-mail

We aim to help our young adult patients to live their lives to the full so we organise our Inspire! social groups and J’s Days out.

Inspiration behind the J's Print E-mail

The J's has been formed in memory of Jonathan Whiffin who was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy at the age of 3 years.
